Colorado - McCullogh Gulch

A few people recommended a short hike just outside of Breckenridge in McCullough Gulch. Their description of how to find the trailhead was enough to convince me: "It's just left of a sign marked ‘Private Road, No Admittance.’”

It's a lovely walk and I would recommend it to anyone. I explored the area pretty thoroughly and found old mine shafts, a little streams, waterfalls and pleasant meadows, as well as the lake at the top.

I had spent about three hours wandering around and was on my back when the regular Colorado mountain afternoon rainstorm arrived.

Even the rain was pretty.
