Rocky Mountains - tundra

The highest reaches of the Trail Ridge Road through the Rocky Mountain National Park pass through alpine tundra. There is also some heavy duty road work going on, but that can happen at any altitude, and frequently does.

This is the view from near the top. Contrary to popular myth, it's not lonely up there at all. For one thing the view of forever distracts you from feeling solitude, and for another there are always at least a handful of tourists around saying things like "Tina, there's no restroom here, honey."

Tina, next time go at the Visitors' Centre.

Those specks you see below the road are bighorn sheep. I know it's hard to tell, but I promise it's true. I was excited.
