Galway Country, Coast Road - Ireland

More reasons to move to Galway became apparent as we left the city and headed north and west along the coast. It is Paradise. Suddenly it became clear why so many impassioned religious weirdos have decided to build temples out of rocks on the hills here. Whatever God you believe in, He (or She) can be seen everywhere in this part of the world. I suspect that if we'd driven around long enough we would have come upon God's weekender and been invited in for a cup of tea.

At one point we drove past a small church. It was all glass windows looking out across a lake that nestled in a fold between three hills. A sign out the front said "Stop here and pray." Even I, the evil scientist, almost did.

The rain appeared to have been concentrated specifically over our heads and it cleared up almost as soon as we were back in the car. It was all blue sky, fluffy white clouds and sheep, steely grey ocean, purple peat and golf course green hills from then on.
